We just enjoyed the weekend in Forest Falls, California where this years Umbrella Ministries Grieving Moms conference was held this year. The weather there was AMAZING and we were surrounded by beauty everywhere you looked. There were even bears there, mind you we didn't actually see any but we sure were warned of their presence! We stayed in cabins that were so cozy! We did A LOT of walking/hiking during the weekend as the camp was pretty spread out but thats ok, it gave us a lot of exercise in between events! We were fed great food and got the real campers experience at Forest Home Christian Camp for sure!
During the weekend we were able to attend different workshops, go zip lining, hiking, mini golf, crafting, and best of all, meeting other moms and sharing our kids with one another. That is one of the parts that I always like the most, meeting other moms. The part that always takes my breath away is when we see so many new moms there, so many grieving moms and I am so thankful that there is a group of women like this for us to come to. It means so much to know there there are other moms out there who 100% know how you're feeling.
We always end the last night of the weekend with a candle lighting time. We say our children's names, light a candle in their honor and just pause in worship. Its one of the most moments of the retreat every year.
We are so thankful for the women who have made these retreats possible for us to attend. They work SO hard to make sure everything falls into place just right.
Daisy, thank you so much to you and Donna, Michelle, and all the other women who have made Umbrella Ministries a safe place for moms hearts to heal.
